Update on Elliot
Here's an update.
Elliot is doing much better. All through the night he was breathing just fine, and didn't need any more treatments. It was a little painful for him to cough and sneeze because every time he did he would just cry and fuss.
The next morning he had a hard time just being somewhere he didn't know, and if anyone held him he would just cry an cry. At least he has a cry now, before he couldn't, he'll make the faces but nothing would come out.
At around nine that morning they let us go home, all that day he was a little fussy because of his throat, but he would play on the ground, and eat just fine.
He still has a runny nose, and the cough but the fever is gone, And we're hoping it won't come back. he's breathing normal as well, we have the humidifier back in his room, cause I think that will help with his cough. (we hope anyway) The doctor said that the cough will most likely be their for at least a week, but it will slowly fade.

Good Elliot is doing better. It is hard. I've spent lots of cold nights out on the front porch with Talia. I think that we have narrow trachea (as a family) so that any type of inflamation leads to a croup-like cough. I remember sitting in front of the humidifier in the house on Sawtooth many times. That was when we still lived there...Anyway, that could also help explain why we are snorers even when we aren't overweight, and are really bad if we do pack on a few extra lbs. It's all about the airway.
TIP: If Elliot has a few more ER visits this season, see if you can get a prescription for oral prednisone or decadron to keep at home as needed. Until then, take Elliot to the ER the moment you see his throat collapse in while he is trying to take a breath. Oh, and he will grow out of it eventually.
